-Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Keeping the Dream Alive

Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and many schools around the US are closed in honor of this incredible man who helped shape our country’s history and culture. Dr. King’s legacy should live on throughout the year, not just on his birthday. That said, now is a perfect time to reflect and plan how we can incorporate his vision into our everyday thinking and activities.

We’ve gathered some great resources to honor and celebrate Dr. King and to guide our students to see and learn from his work. Our classrooms should always be culturally responsive, and equity should be a priority when it comes to classroom vision. Dr. King’s legacy left many lessons for us to use when focusing on these priorities. Check out the following links as you consider how best to learn from and honor this American hero.
